Yaa is an interdisciplinary artist and researcher. She grew up in Newcastle Upon Tyne before moving to London to study, completing her PhD in computational biology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical medicine in 2020.

Recently, she has been incorporating computational biology methods into her artistic practice in an effort to start conversations around the extractive nature of biosciences under neo-liberalism and create spaces to re-centre wonder, connection and appreciation of life on Earth.
